Malachi was the last of the Old Testament prophets. He directed a message of judgment to a people engaged in corrupt, wicked practices, while entertaining a false sense of security because of their privileged relationship with God. The prophet denounced their hypocrisy, infidelity, mixed marriages, false worship, and arrogance.
